Today Ms. Mack’s 2nd graders got a little creative with math! 🧮✨

They learned how to compose and decompose numbers using our base-ten blocks—but they put a delicious twist on it! These little mathematicians used Graham crackers, pretzel sticks, and marshmallows to build and break apart numbers.

Ms. Mack said, “I am SO incredibly proud of them! 💕 They worked hard, used their math skills, and had so much fun learning along the way. And, of course, knowing they got to eat their math manipulatives afterward may have been a little extra motivation!” 😂

Who says learning math can't be delicious?! 🍪➕🥨➖☁️

🍂 Now that September is here, we’re looking forward to all the fun fall events coming up at Shaw Heights!

We are collecting bags of unopened, individually wrapped candy for our T3: Tents, Treats and Treasures event on October 16 and our Fall Festival on October 26. For every bag donated, students will receive a Golden Ace Ticket! 🎟️🍬

📊✨ The Learning Doesn’t Stop When the Students Leave! ✨📊

After our students were dismissed this afternoon, our amazing staff rolled up their sleeves and dove into the data! 📚🔎

Our teachers spent the afternoon analyzing student data, celebrating areas of growth, identifying areas of need, and using what they learned to help plan intentional instruction for the days ahead.

Because great teaching starts with knowing our students—and our staff is committed to meeting every learner right where they are! 💙📈

We may have said goodbye to our students for the day, but the learning continued behind the scenes! We are so proud of our dedicated educators who work hard to make sure every Ace has the opportunity to soar! 🦅⭐️
