Shawano County, WI  Emergency Management Welcome to the Ready Shawano County page, where you will find information on individual and family preparedness.

The mission of the Shawano County Emergency Management department is to utilize effective planning, training, and coordination to continually develop the mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities of the County and its subdivision. Please note, Ready Shawano County page should not be relied on for emergency notifications or warnings. Rather, citizens are encouraged to

have a NOAA weather radio and listen to local media. Ready Shawano County is family friendly and asks that you comply with the following posing guidelines. If messages don’t comply they will be removed.

Wow, hopefully we do see this much!

Hopefully much needed rainfall is on the way. Green Bay is running near 6 inches below normal for the year. Here is the latest projected rainfall amounts across the region from 1 AM Thursday thru 7 AM Saturday. The heaviest rainfall should be across central and east central Wisconsin, where 1 to 3 inches is expected. Some localized flooding is also possible.

Two rounds of storms are possible from late tonight into Thursday morning and again from late Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. Make sure you have a way to receive watch and warning information and move indoors if storms approach.

4:30 AM 5/31/21: Strong or severe storms are possible this afternoon into this evening. The greatest risk of large hail and damaging winds will be from 3 PM to 9 PM. Boaters and campers should seek sturdy shelter if storms approach your area. Make sure you have a way to receive warning information at home or outdoors.

Much of northwestern and north central Wisconsin is under a thunderstorm watch until 10pm. Check with the National Weather Service at weather.gov for updates. Make sure you can receive weather alerts!

Little rain tonight.

[5/18/21] A fairly widespread band of showers will move into the region this evening. Scattered showers then continue overnight, although several breaks are likely for most, especially as we get towards sunrise. Additional shower and storm chances then follow tomorrow, although strong/severe storms seem unlikely at this time.
