Last week, over the course of three days, Shawnee Public Schools 6th grade students stepped into the real world at Junior Achievement of Oklahoma's JA BizTown thanks to a sponsorship through Shawnee Forward!
From managing restaurants and operating banks to writing checks, voting for mayor, and making business decisions, students experienced firsthand how a community and economy work together.
JA BizTown connects classroom learning to real-life experiences, helping students better understand money management, business operations, citizenship, teamwork, and workplace soft skills that will benefit them for years to come.
Experiences like this matter. By giving students hands-on opportunities to learn, explore, and build confidence, we are helping prepare the next generation of leaders, workers, entrepreneurs, and community members right here in Shawnee.
