On Friday, October 2, we took delivery of a new fire engine from Johnson's Emergency Vehicle Solutions.
The vehicle was funded through a combination of federal, state, and local sources:
60% Federal: Congressionally Directed Spending
25% State: 2024 Village Neighborhood Revitalization Grant
15% Local: Property tax levies from Shawnee and Saltlick Townships
Additional grants and donations received since 2019 helped equip the new engine, including:

The new engine replaces our 1987 Pierce model and features a 1,500 GPM pump, a 1,000-gallon water tank, an integrated foam system, expanded storage space, and auto-accident rescue tools.
