The first-ever Shawnee Tomorrow class was in the year 1989. That year's class had 18 members and was led by Dan Snell. Since then, more than 475 community members have participated in the Shawnee Tomorrow Professional Development Program. Its alumni network has benefited the civic landscape of our region, producing business owners, community leaders, and public servants, including current Shawnee Mayor Mickey Sandifer.

Shawnee Tomorrow is designed to equip participants to tackle both current and future community challenges by focusing on key outcomes:

🔵 Engage & Inspire: Connect personal and professional growth directly to community strengthening.
🔵 Broaden Perspective: Expand participant knowledge of local government, regional infrastructure, and economic drivers.
🔵 Encourage Action: Inspire ongoing contributions to the betterment of Shawnee.
🔵 Build Networks: Facilitate direct, meaningful access to influential leaders, top businesses, and civic organizations.

Alumni from every year since 1989 come together for Serve and Socials multiple times each year, where they volunteer alongside each other at a local nonprofit and gather afterwards for a social hour.

The Shawnee Chamber took on the Kansas Speedway for a sold out Over The Fence Luncheon with Kansas City Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Bonner Springs Edwardsville Area Chamber of Commerce!

Members of all 3 Chambers came together to hear from Jackie McClaskey, President and CIO of the American Royal Association. She shared updates on what their move to Kansas will mean for our communities and ways to partner with them in their new state of the art agriculture event, entertainment, and engagement campus.

The KC Chamber Challenge will feature a kickball match, networking, and baseball with Chamber members across Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
