Popsicles & Pup Cups

We had a paws-itively great time at Stoll Park for our Popsicles & Pup Cups event!

We handed out pup cups to our four-legged visitors and popsicles to their humans while getting the chance to talk with park visitors about our parks, the Johnson County Park Police Department, and what we do to help keep our parks safe and enjoyable.

Of course, we also got to spend some quality time meeting some pretty awesome dogs—and if there’s one thing we learned today, it’s that we really, really like dogs.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a treat, and spent some time with us. We’ll see you out in the parks!

At our National Night Out event, we asked the kids to help us decorate one of our patrol vehicles! Each child had the chance to color one of three pictures, and then they helped us tape their artwork onto the vehicle in an attempt to completely cover it.

We think they did an AMAZING job! 🙌🎨

Thank you to everyone who joined the Johnson County Park Police Department for our National Night Out event yesterday!

We had a fantastic time connecting with our community and loved seeing so many families come out to enjoy a popsicle, meet our officers, and learn more about what we do.

A special thank you to the Ernie Miller Park and Nature Center for bringing some amazing animals and sharing their knowledge with everyone. We'd also like to give a huge shoutout to all of the kids who helped decorate one of our patrol vehicles with their artwork—it turned out incredible!

Come out and join the Johnson County Park Police Department for our National Night Out community event on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Park Grand Pavilion.

This free, family-friendly event is a great opportunity to connect with your Park Police officers and learn more about the work we do to keep Johnson County parks safe and enjoyable for everyone.

During the event, you can:

Explore police equipment and vehicles
Meet and talk with Park Police officers
See live animals and learn about wildlife safety
Enjoy arts and crafts
Cool off with a popsicle
Participate in fun outdoor activities

The Johnson County Food Truck will be open throughout the event, offering food and refreshments for purchase.

National Night Out is an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the Johnson County Park Police Department and the community we serve. By building relationships and working together, we can help ensure our parks remain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for everyone.

The FIFA watch parties have been a great success so far. It’s been excellent seeing families and visitors come together to support the countries they love during this historic tournament.
