Hunters for the Hungry
Ruritans support this worthy program. Here's how you can help:
1. Donate a legally harvested, field dressed deer. Only large bodied, well cared for animals are accepted. HftH will pay to process the meat. Our local processor is Anthony Graves of Hunter's Burden in Elliston, VA. 540-871-4839
2. Donate 1-2 packages of meat from a deer you have processed.
3. Donate funds to HftH. It costs about $60 to process one deer. All donations are tax deductible. Many feeding programs in our area benefit from the meat.
4. Donate damage permit harvests. Call the office for assistance with refrigeration, transportation, field dressing, etc. for large harvests.

The July 4 Parade is just around the corner! It’s time to build your floats, tune up your kazoos, and do whatever you usually do. Classic cars, sports teams, churches, marching bands, livestock, businesses, and more are welcome!

BROOM’N and BLOOM’N:

We’ll be having a trash pickup along 460/route 11 this Saturday morning from 8 until 12.
We’re providing gloves, bags, shirts or vests. We could use a few more “grabbers”. Remember sunglasses, sunscreen, and hats.
If you’d like to help, come to the tennis courts at Oldtown fields a few minutes before 8am this Saturday.
