🎓🚑 Congratulations, Lizzy Leikam! 🚑🎓

Today, we proudly celebrate Lizzy Leikam as she graduates from Manitowoc Lincoln High School!

As the second member of Orange Cross Ambulance's inaugural Youth Apprenticeship cohort, Lizzy has helped pave the way for future students interested in EMS careers. Throughout the school year, we have watched her grow tremendously, developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in this profession.

Lizzy is one of those people who truly embraces every opportunity to learn. She regularly picks up extra shifts to help staff ambulances, actively engages in training, asks great questions, and is always looking for ways to improve her skills. Her strong work ethic and genuine passion for EMS have made her a valued member of the Orange Cross team.

Programs like our Youth Apprenticeship Program are helping create the future of EMS, and Lizzy is proof of what can happen when motivated students are given the opportunity to learn and grow. We're proud to say she's officially hooked on EMS and plans to continue her education in the Paramedic Program at Lakeshore College.

We couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds for Lizzy. We look forward to having her continue her journey with Orange Cross as she develops into an outstanding paramedic and healthcare professional.

🎓 Congratulations, Jonah! 🎓

Today we are proud to celebrate Jonah as he graduates from Sheboygan North High School.

Jonah was one of two students selected for Orange Cross Ambulance's inaugural EMS Youth Apprentice Cohort. Over the past year, we have had the opportunity to watch him learn, grow, and become an integral part of the Orange Cross team.

What began as a Youth Apprenticeship has grown into something much more. Through hard work, dedication, and a passion for helping others, Jonah earned his EMT certification and has become a valued member of our organization.

We are incredibly grateful that Jonah has chosen to continue his EMS journey with Orange Cross as he pursues further education and training. Watching him develop into the EMS professional he is today has been rewarding for all of us, and we look forward to seeing where his career takes him next.

Tonight, Orange Cross Ambulance was honored to attend the Manitowoc Lincoln High School Youth Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony at the Capitol Civic Centre, celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of local students — including our very own Youth Apprentice EMT, Lizzy Leikam! 🚑🧡

We are incredibly proud to be part of Wisconsin’s Youth Apprenticeship program and to help support and mentor the next generation of EMS professionals. These students are not only earning a paycheck, but also gaining meaningful real-world career experience and high school credit while preparing for their futures.

The impact of this program is truly incredible. At Manitowoc Lincoln High School alone, Youth Apprentices contributed more than 138,000 hours of work experience and earned over $2.1 million dollars while still in high school. That is something worth celebrating!

Orange Cross Ambulance is proud to currently have two graduating senior Youth Apprentices — one from Manitowoc Lincoln High School and one from Sheboygan North High School. Watching these students grow professionally, build confidence, and develop a passion for serving others has been extremely rewarding for our team.

We are especially excited that Lizzy will be continuing her journey with Orange Cross after graduation while attending Paramedic school. She has already made a tremendous impression on our organization, and we know she has a very bright future ahead in EMS.

Congratulations to Lizzy and to all of tonight’s Youth Apprentices. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to your future and your community inspires all of us.
