What a wonderful week of learning at the 21st Annual Conference on Crimes Against Women (CCAW) in Dallas, TX!

There were over 2,500 people who attended wanting to learn more and bring new ideas back to their communities -- so inspiring!

Topics ranged from Human Trafficking, Stalking and Technology facilitated abuse to Animal Abuse in relationships, coercive control and everything in between.

My only complaint was there were too many sessions I wanted to attend!🙃

A special shoutout to Uptown Social for being such a fantastic host—we’ve already had members asking when we’ll be back for round two!

Events like this are what strengthen our community. They remind us that while officers carry an important and sometimes heavy responsibility, they’re also creative, compassionate, and deeply committed to the people they serve. 💙

▪ .... It's finally NCVRW! An important week here in the Victim Services world✨

▪National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) raises awareness about the impact of crime on individuals, families, and communities while emphasizing that victims deserve dignity, support, and a voice in the justice process.

▪NCVRW highlights the need for services like counseling, legal assistance, and advocacy (just to name a few!), and encourages communities to strengthen protections and resources for those affected by crime.

AND...

➡️The week also serves as a reminder that justice isn’t just about offenders—it’s also about recognizing and supporting victims’ rights and recovery.

Take a look at some of the ways Victim Services at the Sheboygan Police Department has supported members of our community over the past year! 🙌

While we’re proud of the progress this program has made in the 2 years of it's existence at the SPD, we recognize that the numbers only tell part of the story. The real impact comes from the partnership and community connections happening every day.
