The Sheboygan Police Department Junior Police Academy 2026 Session 1 is in the books! We had a great group of students that learned all about Law Enforcement and that Criminal Justice system. The cadets learned about the history of policing, our Emergency Response Team, the Drone Team, the Court System (which included a mock jury trial that was put on by Judge Angela Sutkiewicz), room clearing, the Detention Center, defensive and arrest tactics, the K9 Unit, evidence collection, and traffic stops. The week culminated with a mock crime scene and a test of everything that they learned from the week. Congratulations, cadets, on graduating from the Junior Police Academy!

Summer got here quickly! The Quarry is now open, and we want everyone to have a great time and do so safely. There are some regulations that you will need to follow. Jumping/diving off of the cliffs is not allowed. We take enforcement action on this type of behavior because it is dangerous. The other big rule is no swimming after closing. SCAM ALERT: "YOUR PHONE IS ELIGIBLE FOR AN UPGRADE"

A new scam is making the rounds.

Criminals are impersonating Spectrum Customer Service and contacting victims about a "free" or "discounted" phone upgrade. The scammer then convinces the victim to purchase new mobile devices, provide account information, or share verification codes.

We have had a few reports of this over the past two weeks.

Protect Yourself:
• Hang up and call Spectrum directly using the number on your bill or official website.
• Never provide verification codes to someone who contacts you.
• Be cautious of unexpected upgrade offers.

Members of our senior community are frequently targeted so please share this with older family members and friends since many are not connected with social media platforms.

There are many reasons to keep your lawn mowed this summer! Here are a couple examples. Tall grass can create a breeding ground for ticks, fleas, mice, and other pests 🐁

Also, long grass could create the appearance that a home is abandoned or that someone is on a long vacation, making it a more likely target for criminal behavior!

Please remember that City Ordinance requires grass to be cut down lower than 12”. You can report a problem at the City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works website.

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2026! Friendly reminder that blankets, tarps, etc. may not be laid out at Vollarth Bowl prior to 6 am tomorrow, June 7th for the graduation ceremonies. Any items set out prior to 6 am may be subject to removal. Thank you for everyone's cooperation!

🎓 The Sheboygan Area School District will hold its historic outdoor graduation ceremony at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at Vollrath Bowl. Graduates from all five Sheboygan Area School District high schools - Central High School, Étude High School, George D. Warriner High School, North High School, and South High School - will ‘walk the bowl’ to receive their diplomas.

This morning, the Sheboygan Police Department, along with other local Law Enforcement partners participated in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run. The mission of the Torch Run is to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics of WI. Sheboygan Culvers Restaurants are participating in a statewide campaign where from June 1-7th they are donating $1 from every Lemon Ice Chiller sold to Special Olympics WI!

Great job to all participants today and best of luck to all the athletes participating in the summer games this weekend in Whitewater!
