🚧 UPDATE: The Abbe Road railroad tracks are now OPEN to traffic! 🚧

The crossing has reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed. Thank you to everyone for your patience during the closure and for using alternate routes while work was being completed.

Please continue to drive safely and watch for any workers or equipment that may still be in the area.

*****UPDATE UPDATE**** Tracks on Abbe Rd between Colorado and French Creek are OPEN.

🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT / ROAD CLOSURES 🚧

The following railroad crossing closures are scheduled for repairs & improvement projects. Please plan alternate routes & allow extra travel time.

📍 Abbe Road Railroad Crossing Closure
🗓 June 15 – June 20
🚫 Abbe Rd between Colorado Ave & French Creek Rd
The railroad tracks will be closed for repairs, & sidewalk improvements will also be completed during this time.

📍 French Creek Road Railroad Crossing Closure
🗓 June 22 – June 27
🚫 French Creek Rd on the board of Avon & the Village
The railroad tracks will be closed for repairs.

Please use caution in the area, plan alternate routes, & expect delays. We appreciate your patience as these improvements are completed.

Detective Corr and Patrolman Folley had a fantastic time joining students, families, and staff at Phoenix Learning Center's End-of-the-Year Celebration!

Phoenix Learning Center is a K–12 educational institution dedicated to serving children with special needs through a multidisciplinary approach that combines academic instruction, therapeutic support, life skills development, and a strong focus on social-emotional learning.

The students enjoyed exploring one of our patrol vehicles, meeting our officers, and learning more about law enforcement in a fun and interactive setting. Events like these help strengthen the relationships between our department and the community we proudly serve.

Thank you to Phoenix Learning Center for the invitation and for all you do to support and empower your students each day. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing summer!

Detective Corr of the Sheffield Village Police Department is a certified Car Seat Technician and is available to assist with proper car seat installation and safety education.

Is that Detective Corr pulling a shift at the McDonald's drive-thru window? Not necessarily, Detective Corr was partnering with the Ohio Safe Driver Coalition and their "Buckle Up For Burgers" campaign. Safety minded folks were issued a citation for a free burger while those folks unfortunate to not be buckled up received a stern finger wave and a quick word about seat belt use. Please remember to "Buckle Up" while behind the wheel and it could earn you a free meal.

Findings: the meats are approved, and the sandwiches are dangerously good. 🥪👮‍♂️

Yesterday, members of the Sheffield Village Police Department attended the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Parade and Service.

The event brought agencies from across the region together to honor and remember the courageous officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. This year, the service held special meaning for our department as we continued to remember Officer Phillip C. Wagner, who began his law enforcement career with the Sheffield Village Police Department before serving with the Lorain Police Department.

We continue to keep Officer Wagner, all fallen heroes, and their loved ones in our thoughts. 🖤💙
