Well, I didn't think I would make front page headlines today for wanting the Lorain County Republican Party to disassociate from national Republican figures that have backed Democrats this campaign season. As Republicans on the County Central Committee members we can disagree on whether to support or not support our own candidates - but we should always expect that Central Committee members never go out of their way to support the other team.

We should also expect as registered Republicans that we discipline and take action with Republican Leaders that have reached the upper echelons of our party and have benefitted from Republican volunteers and donors. It is a slap in the face to every Republican of the Lorain County Republican Party when our leaders and former leaders feel it is okay to throw the basketball to the other team so they can score.

Let's be clear what is happening, I am not criticizing former Governor Taft for not supporting Bernie Moreno. I am criticizing him for supporting the other team's candidate. There is a huge difference. I am not criticizing the Cheney's for not supporting Trump - but I am criticizing them for supporting the Harris Walz ticket. These are supposed Republicans that have benefitted from thousands to millions of hours of Republican volunteers helping them throughout their career and receiving millions of dollars in contributions from Republicans - only to be stabbed in the back when they have a personal disagreement with the candidate elect. We were all expected to unify under their banner no matter how much we disagreed with some of their policies - but now - they are not just sow dissension within out party - but they are actually advocating for the other side.

The resolution says that party faithful should shun any Republicans who have come out in support of Democrats this election season for a "betrayal" of Republican values.

Might want to explain to the du*****es running the Ohio Republican Party that - Ohio is only 221 years old. Up till 2021 the Ohio legislature drew the maps and the Ohio Redistricting Commission is less than 10 years old.

I can see opposing this legislation - I just can't see lying about it!

The Ohio Republican Party is working hard against the Issue 1 threat to gerrymandering (laughing my ass off) -

(1) The ORP with their great wisdom has not placed anything on Issue 1 on their website.

(2) 3 Facebook posts and 5 X/Twitter posts are not campaigns that will not win over the masses.

(3) $5,000 in yard signs that will go to predominantly Cincinnati and Columbus locations are a joke - only try to make it look like the party is doing something in those areas.

Let me break it down for you. The current redistricting commission is a Joke - and it was brought to you by the same people who are pushing this redistricting commission.

Might I remind you the last redistricting commission led to a $30 million dollar split primary and a debacle that led to really no chance of any real challengers to our State legislators and that led to the Blue 22.

Having my druthers I'd reform our redistricting to permanent weighted voting districts or return redistricting to the legislature where it belongs. Our Statewide officials are just too dumb and too corrupt to have this power - Republican or Democrat.

I am not for keeping the present system under any circumstance and empowering the Governor anymore than he already is. We have given him so much power he is a King. If this passes we will have till 2031 to fix it with a better proposal. If it passes the world will not end - and guess what the Republicans are not mounting an adequate multi-million dollar defense. Why? Because this does not concern their big dollar special interest donors and they do not know how to raise money from normal everyday Republicans - and Normal everyday Republicans do not trust the party enough to donate to it.

Is issue one backed by the worst of the worst of Democrat bad actors? Yep! But guess what - it is such a bad bill that if it succeeds Alex Triantafilou might actually be fired and enough Republican legislators might get off their asses and do something before the 2031 election.
The ORP raised about $300,000 for pro-life issues in 2023 and spent about $20,000 on pro-life issues - the rest went to the staff that supports moderate Republicans.

The incompetence of Alex Triantafilou is on full display here and he should be fired along with his staff for their lackadaisical approach to issues important to Republicans - but this is what you get when you only know how to sell the party to the highest bidder.

Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens has stripped five fellow Republicans, including three from southwest Ohio, from committee posts as punishment for financially backing challengers to Republican incumbents in the GOP primary.
