Old Railroad Bridge Company (ORBC)

Old Railroad Bridge Company (ORBC) The Old Railroad Bridge has not been used for transportation purposes for decades, but the ORBC Has maintained the structure as a pedestrian bridge.

It offers a beautiful view of the Tennessee River on Pickwick Lake. The Old Railroad Bridge is located on the oldest bridge site in the state of Alabama. The existing bridge was built in the late 1800's and was last used for automobile transportation in 1939 and for train traffic in 1988. It presently is used as a walking trail and is available for use as a wedding or meeting venue for a small donation. Contact us at [email protected]

What a dear friend on the bridge. It's easier to enjoy a lovely evening walk with the lighting at the bridge so much better. This beautiful grey heron is there often to meet this dear lady. It's the generous grant from the RC&D that paid for the new lighting along with so much more to help light up the Old Bridge.

There are people always asking how they can help. If you would like to volunteer we can always use more helping hands. Send a message I believe we are going to start a new group for volunteers. We need someone to help with the volunteer group, social media posts, writing blog post, taking pictures at the bridge, working fundraisers and much more.

To all that have asked; thank you for contacting us about the Old Railroad Bridge and considering supporting it with a donation. We have a lot of expensive repairs that will need to be done over the next year. You should find the PayPal link below. You can send a check made to the Old Railroad Bridge to 112 Creekwood Circle Florence, AL 35630. We are always looking for people to get involved as volunteers. Please let us know if you would like information to be more of a part. RC&DNorthwestAlabama
