Our mission began in 1985, and continues today: we are here to help educators and parents prevent crimes against children and youth through education and awareness. Child safety experts Rosemary Webb and Jennifer Mitchell have worked at Child Lures Prevention for over thirty years each and currently serve as Co-Presidents. Teen

Lures Prevention was launched in 2008 in an effort to make personal safety education more relevant and appealing to teens by involving them in the learning process via peer teaching. Founder Kenneth Wooden is now President Emeritus and still very active in his lifelong efforts to protect children and youth around the world.

According to data analyzed by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, of the thousands of children who escaped attempted abductions, 81% did so by themselves. Of these, 51% walked or ran away from the suspect, and 30% yelled, kicked, pulled away or otherwise attracted attention. A parent or good Samaritan rescued the child in 19% of attempted abductions.

Students who participated in Think First & Stay Safe™ were 12.4% more likely to disclose during forensic interviews than children who did not participate in the program.

Their disclosures had more detailed stories and were 60% more likely to be substantiated, increasing offender prosecution.
