Mae Stecker Park

Mae Stecker Park The crack of a bat and the roar of a crowd are some of the sounds of summer you’ll hear at Mae Stecker Park.

Named in memory of a former Shelby Township Clerk, this 14-acre park opened in 1974. Mae Stecker Park’s playscape was erected in 1997 with financial assistance from the Shelby Township Fraternal Order of Police. The tennis courts and sand volleyball courts provide activities for the summer, while a lighted, portable ice rink opens in the winter. Other features of this park include two lighted soft

ball diamonds with electronic scoreboards and dugouts, two state-of-the-art surface basketball courts donated by the Atherton Foundation in 2012, a 1.5-mile hiking trail, picnic tables, two tot-lots with two tot-swings, one belt swing, one handicap swing, a small picnic shelter, a single barbeque grill, and restrooms.
