Advancing Macomb is proof that when nonprofits, businesses, local governments, and community leaders come together, we can tackle our challenges and create opportunities. Tonight was the 10th Anniversary of their Summer Soiree Celebration. It was great to see Executive Director Phil Gilchrist, Board of Directors Secretary and former Judge Jodi Debbrecht Switalski, and New Baltimore Mayor Tom Semaan. It was a fantastic night along the water and the downpour held off! Congrats to Advancing Macomb on all they are doing to create a stronger community.

It is Mariell's firm belief that judges serve the law, the Constitution and every person who enters the courtroom. Judges serve everyone.

Mariell makes it a point to meet with community members and leaders no matter which side of the aisle they stand on. Last week, she spoke at the Warren Sterling Heights Democratic Party candidate forum. Earlier this month, she spoke before the Macomb County Republican Party. Campaigns are about ensuring voters of all backgrounds know who is on their ballot and have the information they need to make an informed decision.

The law is the law. A judge's responsibility is to apply it without fear or favor. Mariell has the courage to do just that.
