We are moving on up in the world around here !!! Be looking for our quarterly donation request mailer in your mailboxes. You will see something new on there going forward. We are giving you the option to donate via a QR Code with a debit or credit card. We know checks are becoming a thing of the past for a lot of people and we hope this helps some of you out. We greatly appreciate everyone in the community that has donated to our little department. Without your continued support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. We are attaching a link below to the electronic donation portal if anyone would like to use it that way.

Thanks,
Shelby Fire

Huge shout out to Columbiana Fire Department for organizing these mutual aid trainings for all of the surrounding departments. This type of training allows us to all train together to better help us while responding together. Big thank you to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to utilize their helicopter for this training.

Today our guys along Columbiana Fire Department and Kingdom Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in Live Burn Training at our Training Center. Our new guys got some good first hand experience in a controlled environment to see some of the obstacles we are faced with in a structure fire. The crews got to run a few different scenarios, combining forcible entry, search and suppression. Huge thanks to all the guys from Calera Fire Department for coming out on this hot day to do some training for us. It was great to get all the departments we run mutual aid with together to train together. Training together makes us all better prepared while working together.

I am asking on behalf of Shelby Fire and all first responders… Please stay home, be safe and do NOT be out riding around sightseeing and possibly becoming their next patient. We have lots of trees down, power lines down and water over roadways. When people get out sightseeing it puts our first responders in danger. So just Stay home and stay safe! Thanks for understanding and your cooperation!

Everyone get to your safe places and stay off the roadways. We have some lines down and trees down that we are aware of. As soon as we feel safe we will get these assessed.

Thanks,
Shelby Fire

Just for any passerbyers, we are hose testing at Shelby Elementary School tonight. If you see lights and fire fighters don't be alarmed we are just testing hose.

Today at the Shelby County Arts Building our very own Kenny Moor was presented with the Helping Hands award by the kids at Shelby Elementary School. These awards are given to people in the community for their community service. There isn't a better person to receive this award than Kenny Moor. Anyone who knows him knows he will do anything in his power to help someone. We at Shelby Fire Department are very fortunate to have Kenny Moor. Congratulations Moon you deserve it !!
