Meet the Staff
Marcia Stanford - Client Services Coordinator
I am a wife to a wonderful man and am the mother of four precious children. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology that I received from Liberty University as well as a masters in Human Service Counseling Crisis Response and Trama. I joined this amazing ministry 5 years ago as a volunteer; little did I know the Lord had more permanent plans for me here. I volunteered for 6 months before coming on staff as the Client Services Coordinator. I have always loved helping women and I adore babies so this was a perfect fit for me. I have learned so much about myself and have grown personally by hearing the stories of the moms and families we serve. I love hearing about their struggles and their victories and watching them grow as individuals. This ministry encourages my spirit and keeps me going even on the toughest days. This ministry is powerful and I am so blessed to be a part of it.

My favorite color is pink!

Meet the Staff Monday
We thought we would dedicate the next four Mondays to introduce you to our dedicated staff. Would you pray for each of us as we seek to serve our community through this ministry?
Sarah - Events Coordinator
Sarah joined the staff in March of 2010 as Client Services Coordinator but her role in the Center has shifted over the years as she now assists with fundraising and communication. She has a great love for this ministry and is passionate about the Pro-Life movement. What began as a job has turned into a calling and she is forever grateful for the opportunity to work here as it has made a deep impact on her. If you receive the Friend for Life or receipt letter chances are you have read some of her articles. Sarah loves to draw inspiration for her writing from her own personal quiet time and tie it into an aspect of the ministry. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite fundraiser is the Banquet because she gets to meet and greet many of the amazing donors who make this ministry possible. She graduated with a bachelors in Graphic Design from Gardner Webb University and enjoys using her skills to create videos and other fun graphics for the Center. Have you had a chance to meet Sarah?

Updated total for the Walk for Life is $23,591!!! We serve an amazing God, this total is close to what we last year!
This picture of a sweet couple who came to the Walk with their family brought a smile to our faces. It is a beautiful representation of what our Walk is all about. Our desire is to help build strong families in our community by sharing the love of God with all who come through our doors. We have witnessed the power of God's Word and can't even begin to say how many relationships have been mended. Thank you for standing with us and enabling us to share the truth of God's love with the many families who come through our doors.

This was the day our dream of creating a mobile Center was realized. We are grateful for Willard Lovelace who was willing to travel all the way to California with Matt to purchase the RV that would become PRC Mobile. These two men are so dedicated to the mission of the Center and we are grateful for their servant's heart.

We are so grateful to everyone who came to our Walk for Life. Even though we had an overcast sky there was great sunshine in our hearts. We want to praise the Lord for all He has done and how He has continued to provide for the Center through our generous community. Our current total for the Walk is $18,500. Thank you to everyone who gave and who walked, your support continues to allow us to serve the women in our community.

Marcia and I have made many trips around town together whether that was to check on baby bottles hosted by local businesses or to pick up donations. Whenever we go we always like to have fun and maybe take a picture or two. We are looking forward to taking some new pictures at our Walk for Life tomorrow! Will we see you there?

We asked some of our walker's last year to tell us why they walked for life. Here are some of their answers:
"I walk to do my part to help girls and women be able to choose life for their baby!"
"I walk with the hope that many babies will be saved."
"I walk because my mother had an abortion and she struggled with that decision for the rest of her life".
Many of us gather to walk with different motivations but the reason is the same, to let women know that they are not alone and hope that they still have a future.
Why do you walk?

We are down in the single digits for our Walk for Life, it is happening in less than 5 days and we are excited. The Walk always signifies the close of our major fundraising for the year and the start of planning for the next. While 2020 was not exactly what we expected, we are thankful to our God for His continued provision and goodness. Will you be joining us at this Walk? We will gather at the Center for registration which begins at 9 and officially begin the Walk with prayer at 9:30. We would love to see you there.

We want to wish you all a wonderful Labor Day with your family.

Who says you can't have fun at work? This month we would like to share some of the fun we have and the sweet memories we have made! Because our Walk for Life starts next weekend we thought we would start with our favorite...Matt in the dunking booth. It doesn't get much better than that! Did you have an opportunity to get him wet last year?

09/03/2020

We are in the single digit count down to our Walk for Life. Even though this year has not been at all what we planned we are grateful that we are under the care of such a wonderful God. We look forward to gathering together on Saturday September 12th in support of life and look forward to seeing each of you there.

Communication is an important part of what we do here at the Center. We do a Friend for Life mailing four times a year with over 300 recipients and a newsletter twice a year that goes to over 1,400 individuals within our community . Each of these mailings takes a lot of preparation including printing, folding, and taping. We love having a few volunteers come in to help us with this work not only because the load is lighter but the conversation is always uplifting. If you are interested in helping us just give us a call to learn when our next mailing day will take place.

Board Spotlight
Tanzy Wallace began serving her first term on our Board of Directors in 2010 and has just begun a second term this year. She served as our board secretary during her first term and always looked for opportunities to volunteer in other areas especially during fundraisers. Tanzy and her husband Stephen have been married for 35 years and have four grown children Nikao, Stuart, Emmanuel, and Simeon. We are so grateful for Tanzy and her family and for the passion they share for the important work of the Pregnancy Resource Center. Do you know Tanzy?

Our Walk for Life 2020 is scheduled for Saturday, September 12. However, because of the possibility of another shut down of mass gatherings due to COVID-19 and concerns about adequately disinfecting equipment, we felt it was necessary to make some changes. This year, we will only be praying and walking at the PRC. There will be no additional activities. In the event of a shutdown, teams can gather and walk at a location of their choosing or individually. We will still receive Walk packets and distribute t-shirts as usual. Award winners will be notified Monday, September 14. No awards will be presented at the Walk. Even though this Walk will look different than our past ones, God is still good and we are grateful to have such an amazing and supportive community!

Board Spotlight
Larry Hawkins has volunteered with the PRC since 1997. He and his wife Kathy just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on July 31st. They have two children, Neely and Lucas, and four grandchildren, Max, Isla, Skylar, and Rori. Larry first joined the board of directors in 2010 and is currently serving his second term. He also faithfully serves in many other areas of the ministry from helping with set-up and parking at the Walk for Life to cleaning up after our Annual Fundraising Banquet. Larry is a tremendous blessing to us and we cherish his friendship and commitment to the vital work of the Pregnancy Resource Center. Plus we can always count on him for a smile! Have you met Larry?

The Baby Boutique is one of our moms’ favorite places at the Center. This is where all of our baby items are displayed and she is able to get what ever she needs with the points she has earned through our Solid Foundation Program. As you can imagine, after a few browsing sessions it can become a little disorganized. Are you someone who loves to organize? If you are, we could use your help. All it takes is a 2-3 hours a week to keep it looking great. If you would like to help, please contact Marcia Stanford for more information 704-487-4357

Board Spotlight
Kale Meade has served on the board since 2017, but he and his family have been involved for many more years volunteering and giving. Kale and his wife Pam shared with their children very early the joy of serving others. They are a very sweet family who have a heart of service, we are so grateful to the Lord for bringing this family into our life! Do you know the Meades?

Often it is the little things that make the biggest impact, like thank you cards. It may seem like a simple thing but saying thank you is one of the greatest things you can do. We appreciate all of our donors and the generosity they have shown. Our goal is to send everyone a thank you card no matter the size of the gift. Unfortunately, with the many hats we wear it can take us longer than we would like to send those cards. If you are someone who enjoys writing little notes of appreciation and have a desire to volunteer with us, then we have the perfect opportunity for you. If you would like to become our ambassador of thanks you can message us or give us a call to learn more. Thank you!

Hi, After watching the incomprehensible celebrations of death, that took place in the halls of our government recently, I was moved to write this song/video. Hoping this may nudge someone in the direction of life. Please feel free to share this with any you think would benefit.
