Join us for an evening of fun, family, and summer vibes at the Shelby Summer Kick-Off Cook-Out and Movie Night!

A big thanks to the half dozen people who took it upon themselves to move the large tree limb that fell over State St/Oceana Dr just south of the hospital when the wind picked up at the beginning of the storm.

Help keep our park clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone:

🕖 Park Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
🚫 No scooters, bicycles, skateboards, or other wheeled items
🏀 Use courts for their intended purposes only
🗑️ Place trash in garbage receptacles
🐕 Pets must be on a leash – and clean up after your dog
🗣️ Use appropriate language
✅ We encourage adults to say something if you see something to help keep our park respectful and safe for all.

Improvements continue to happen in Shelby! 👏

Just in the past week, we’ve seen some great progress in our downtown:

✅ Congregational Church removed a building that had reached the end of its lifespan
✅ Consumers Energy replaced a power pole near Shelby State Bank
✅ Repairs underway at the former hotel building on Michigan Ave
✅ Interior remodel + new brick façade going up next to the Love INC office
✅ Former icehouse building getting much-needed repairs

And that’s just downtown — there’s even more happening throughout the community on their homes!

What makes this especially exciting? These improvements are being driven by local, private investment from people who believe in Shelby who are building a safer, more well-maintained, and appealing town.

It’s an exciting time to be in Shelby! 💙
