Hi, my name is Hadley Ergenbright, I am last year's recipient of the Montana Hereford Heifer Grant. The grant is a great way for kids to start their own herd and a great way for families to start raising nutritious meat.
Both calves are doing great now and I can't wait for them to be bred next summer. This summer I brought the cow calf pairs back to the places where we purchased them from to get bred. Now, they are living the time of their lives munching on grass in the backyard.
The Hereford grant helped me start my herd and learn lots of life skills. I highly recommend applying for the Hereford Heifer Grant. It has helped me learn lots of information and how to properly take care of livestock.
