☀️ Summer Meals Are Here! 🍎🥪

Shelbyville Central Schools is proud to offer FREE summer meals for all children 18 years old and younger at Shelbyville High School.

📍 Shelbyville High School
2003 S. Miller Street

📅 June 1 - July 24

🍳 Breakfast: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
🥪 Lunch: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Children must be present to receive meals.

Need meals for the weekend? Weekend meal packs are available for pickup on Fridays from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Registration is required, and a new sign-up link will be shared each week.

Breakfast and lunch are being served

Monday through Friday at no cost to students (K-12) at Shelbyville High School.

Weekend take-home meals are also available!

☀️📚 SUMMER READING KICKOFF PARTY!

School may be out, but the reading opportunities are just getting started!

Join the Shelby County Public Library for their Summer Reading Kickoff Party on Monday, June 1 from 3:00–6:00 PM at the Shelbyville Branch Outdoor Plaza!

Students can sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and enjoy:
💦 Slip n Slide
🎨 Crafts
🎵 Music
🏃 Messy Obstacle Course
🌊 Water Activities
…and plenty of summer fun!

Readers who complete 600 minutes of reading this summer can even earn prizes and attend the Twilight Swim Celebration later in July. Not bad for opening a book! 📖

We hope to see lots of Comets there - this is a great opportunity to keep those reading muscles strong over summer break!

☀️🎉 School’s Out for Summer! 🎉☀️

Summer break is officially here, and what an incredible final week we had at Coulston! From glow parties and egg drops to Field Day celebrations and Awards, our students finished the year strong. 📚🚀

Here are just a few snapshots from some of our final activities last week. Thank you to our amazing staff, families, and students for making this school year such a special one.

🎓 It's the big night for the Shelbyville Central Schools Class of 2026!

Years ago, many of these graduates walked into our elementary schools with tiny backpacks, untied shoes, and big dreams. This evening, they walk across the stage as graduates ready for whatever comes next.

To the Class of 2026: thank you for the memories, the laughter, the school spirit, and the mark you’ve left on SCS. Your teachers and this community are proud of the people you’ve become.

Earlier this week we welcomed back Shelbyville High School students as they participated in the annual senior walk-through. 🎓💙

Our students lined the halls to cheer on these graduating seniors as they walked through the very building where many of them sat in elementary classrooms themselves.

One of the best moments of this day is watching younger siblings spot their older brothers and sisters walking the halls in their graduation gowns, absolutely beaming with pride.

Congratulations to these graduating seniors and remember.... Once a Comet, Always a Comet! ☄️

🚀🥚 End-of-year activities are going strong at Coulston!

Today, our 5th graders took part in their annual Egg Drop Challenge, putting their engineering skills, creativity, and problem-solving to the ultimate test.

A huge thank you to our 5th grade teachers for continuing this memorable tradition and creating such a fun hands-on experience for students each year. We love seeing our Comets take their learning to new heights. ☄️👏
