VFW Post 1179

VFW Post 1179 The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1179 in Shelbyville, Kentucky assists veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, Persian Gulf, Iraq or Afghanistan.

We do this through our membership who have served in these wars and can provide counselling and just listen to the problems encountered by veterans. We hold bi-weekly meetings. We also mentor youth, promote citizenship, civic responsibility and patriotism. Our members also volunteer at hospitals, community food banks, schools and churches.
