🚨 Warren is going OVER THE EDGE for Shelby County kids! 🚨

On October 10, I'm stepping off the roof of the Capital Center Building in downtown Indianapolis — straight down, rope and all — to raise support for Shelby County FCA and the students we walk alongside every day.

Here's the thing: this isn't just a stunt. It's a picture. Every kid who takes a step of faith — into a huddle, into an honest conversation about who they really are, into a relationship with Jesus — is going over their own edge. I get to go over mine so more of them have the coaches, the Bible studies, and the community that makes that next step possible.

They said it couldn't be done. 🙄

They said middle schoolers couldn't lead a Huddle. That no way could 12-year-olds teach the Bible to 90 of their peers.

God just laughed. 😂

I said... have you met my LiT graduates?

Sadie said, "Let us teach."
Jenna said, "We got this!"
Emery said, "We can write a great message."

They were right. For the 2nd week in a row, our Leaders in Training led the ENTIRE Shelbyville Middle School FCA Huddle.

This week Jenna and Sadie taught on friendships and relationships — how the people you walk closest with shape who you become. "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future." They challenged 90 of their peers to choose character over cover, plant seeds instead of forcing faith, and be the friend who invites instead of the one who gossips. Then the whole room prayed the Lord's Prayer together. 🙏

Two 12-year-olds just out-taught a lot of adults.

This is what LiT is all about — not extra hands at Huddle, but handing students the mic and believing in them before they ever "feel ready." When a kid hears truth from a peer instead of a coach, it hits different.

SMS FCA isn't just running a program. We're watching the next generation of leaders rise up right in front of us. 🏆

Jenna stepped up as a student leader this year and killed it. She asked the tough questions: How do grudges affect your life? Is forgiveness actually easy? (Spoiler: no — but Jesus forgave us anyway, so we forgive too.)

⛹️‍♂️🙏 Let Your Light Shine!

There's something powerful about watching a group of middle schoolers huddle up in prayer before their first match — not hiding it, not being embarrassed by it, just boldly bringing their team, their opponents, and the game itself before God.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." — Matthew 5:16

These FCA student leaders aren't just playing a sport — they're setting a tone. Teammates are watching. The opposing team is watching. Coaches and parents in the stands are watching. And what they're seeing is a group of young athletes who aren't afraid to put their faith first, on the field and off.

Proud of these students for leading with courage and humility. This is what it looks like to bear much fruit right where you're planted (John 15:8) — one huddle, one match, one moment at a time.
