Seniors Feeding Seniors food drive culminated today with a visit to the Multi Purpose Community Action Agency. Members of the Class of 2024 delivered snacks, sang happy birthday and shared life with some new friends. Thanks for partnering with us Independence Bank! The Class of 2024 needs your help! Please consider donating to our Seniors Feeding Seniors schoolwide food drive! Peanut butter crackers, granola bars, tuna/chicken packets and fruit cups are all snacks senior citizens can easily open and enjoy. If you have a student at SCHS, consider sending donations. The winning grade level advisory gets a pizza party compliments of Independence Bank. Let's support the Class of 2024!!!

Class of 2024 - Seniors Feeding Seniors in partnership with the Multi-Purpose Action Agency and Independence Bank are collecting the following food items for the next two weeks:
*peanut butter or cheese crackers
*tuna or chicken packets
*granola or cereal bars
*fruit cups

Award winning Victory, Stand illustrator Dawud Anyabwile visited with students all day today. His message was:
1. Be a merchant, not just a consumer. Learn how things are created.
2. Do what you love whether you get paid for it or not.
3. Surround yourself with people who build you up.
4. Don’t quit when things get hard.
Our students were inspired by his work on Victory, Stand; Rugrats; Diary of a Wimpy Kid; Crossover by Kwame Alexander; and Monster by Walter Dean Myers. He looked at student artwork, encouraged them, answered every question, signed books and made a career in animation and illustration feel accessible to everyone. Thanks to Brick and Mortar for their corporate sponsorship and SCHS Student Council for helping us make it happen. What a lovely day!!
