Summer is an ideal time for reading, and we host story times for our youngest patrons! Our regular story sessions continue at the Shelbyville location. The popular summer only Kopper Kettle sessions take place every Wednesday at 10:30 am from June 3rd to July 15th. It promises to be a fun time at the library!

This summer, keep track of your child's reading with Beanstack and/or by using this simple log. Physically crossing off or writing down your child's reading minutes can give them a real sense of achievement and a clear view of their progress, which digital lists might not always provide.

If you choose to use our online tracker, no need to use a paper log—unless you want to! For every 20 minutes read, just mark off or color in a dinosaur. Bring the completed log to either library to claim a prize for each hour read. And once your child has read for a total of 10 hours, the finished log is a ticket to our exciting Summer Reading Pool Party at Shelbyville’s Meridian Park Aquatic Center!
