Since we have so many new friends here, I thought it might be a great time for some introductions. Hi! I’m Megan. I’m the gal behind The Harbison House. This house belonged to my beloved grandparents. It was the MOST magical place to grow up. We wanted the farm to stay in the family (as my Granny used to say ,”once you let go of the land, you never get it back”.”) and thus, the idea of this business was born. I spend my days running the farm, keeping the house s***k and span and rearranging the chocolates on the bedside trays until they are perfect. I’m a mom to 3 incredible kiddos- 2 in college and 1 that is sooooo close to leaving the nest.
When we say this place is a family business, we mean it. You can find my kids clearing brush on the farm or helping mop the floors from time to time on school breaks. My mom helps me with the cleaning. She bruises like a peach so she can lately be found scrubbing the kitchen in her kid sized soccer shin guards to protect her legs. It’s adorable. My dad helps cut the grass and maintain the farm. He keeps the vibes high around here. And my dear, sweet Uncle Dru (nearly 80) is connected to my hip every day helping with any and every thing. 5 years ago when this was just a dream of mine, Uncle Dru said I needed lessons on how to be a farmer and he’s been the most diligent teacher. He’s always available to pull me out of the creek when I get the tractor stuck and he keeps my chainsaw blades razor sharp.
We’re the crew making sure that your stay here is picture perfect! Getting to do this every day has brought so much joy and fun into my life. Nice to meet you!
