Shelby Main Street is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening downtown Shelbyville by supporting local businesses, preserving historic character, and creating a vibrant, welcoming community for residents and visitors.

As part of this mission, Shelby Main Street hosts a variety of events throughout the year that are free for the public to attend. These events help bring people downtown, support local businesses, and create opportunities for community connection. To make these events possible, we rely on volunteers who generously give their time and talents.

🏌️‍♂️⛳ Congratulations to Lincoln Laubach, the 2026 David B. Eaton Weissinger Hills Golf Scholarship winner!
Today, Mayor Ethington and former Mayor David Eaton had the pleasure of presenting Lincoln with his scholarship check. Lincoln is a 2026 graduate of Martha Layne Collins High School and plans to attend Western Kentucky University this fall. 🎓💙
This scholarship is presented each year to Shelby County golfers who exemplify the true meaning of the game of golf. Lincoln was chosen as this year’s recipient because of his character, love of the game, and the qualities he has shown while working, serving, and playing at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. 🌟

Beechwood between Main and Washington is temporarily closed due to a large tree that is blocking the road. Estimated time for the closure is undetermined at this time. Kentucky Utilities and other public safety are on the scene

🚧 UPDATED TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane and Shoulder Closures on I-64 East Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, in Shelby County 🚧

🚧 UPDATED TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane and Shoulder Closures on I-64 East Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, in Shelby County 🚧

The right lane and shoulder of I-64 East at mile point 38.3 (near the I-64 Weigh Station) will be closed from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, and Tuesday, Aug. 18. The lane and shoulder closures are necessary for KYTC crews to perform routine maintenance of the interstate.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the work zone and expect delays.

🎉 What a wonderful way to kick off the new school year! It was truly an honor to attend Opening Day for Shelby County Public Schools this morning at Martha Layne Collins High School. We are so grateful for our amazing teachers, bus drivers, administrators, SCPS support staff, students, and families who make our schools such special places to learn and grow.
