Did You Know? Shelby County History Highlights

As we celebrate 250 years of history, Shelby County has some incredible stories to share:

• Jeptha K**b – Our highest point, believed to be a meteoroid impact site

• Cropper, KY – Founded by early settler James Cropper, a true pioneer

• David C. Alexander Jr. – Acclaimed author and creator of detective Bart Hardin

• Southville Film (1949) – Showcased rural America to the world

• Margaret Hornback – WWII nurse and local healthcare leader

Join us in celebrating and sharing the stories that make Shelby County special!
