Jason, otherwise known by his call sign "Mobile 50" has a new toy he plans to add a few bells and whistles to. This is just one example of the commitment our volunteers go to while serving Mason and surrounding counties on their own dime. Mobile 50 is always on duty and ready for the call.

The final 2018-2019 field training put to rest. Our dedicated professional volunteers sacrificed another weekend of their time to refine search, first aid and extraction skills as well as navigation using map and compass. Mason County Search and Rescue is proud to report another 3 novices graduating to fully certified searchers. We'll see you 3 next year for Team Leader training.

Just as we were back in service at HQ (stowing gear, replacing supplies. etc) MCSAR was deployed by the sheriff's office and met the challenge living up to its motto, " Any Mission, Anywhere ".

We will always work hard to be ready to serve our community.

Life is full of changes, as is our website. You can be sure that while our website is down and the tech gremlins are busy, we are training hard to keep our level of professionalism at its peak.

This weekend the dedicated team of Mason County Search and Rescue kept busy with our second evolution of field training. Going back to basics was the theme, and all hands were busy showing there skills on navigation (GPS and map and compass), leapfrogging, knot tying, and tarp shelters to name a few.

The weekend concluded with a timed rodeo of skills competition, fun was had by all, with a little friendly smack talk on the side. The Skills Rodeo ended with an exhibition demonstration by a two member team setting a Z drag belay rope system. I know it's a little nerdy but what do you expect from people who think spending their spare time sleeping and playing in the dirt in winter is fun and nessicary.

Our thanks go out to the team and our friends of MCSAR who help to make this all possible.
