It's National Safety Month and you KNOW we love some good safety messaging! As you're doing your spring/summer chores, keep in mind ways to improve safety around your home. Here are some ideas:

👉 Check your electrical cords for any fraying or damage.
👉 Look around for any trees, branches, or other vegetation interfering with power lines, transformers, or other electrical equipment. If you see an issue, you can let us know by filling out a "hazard tree" form on our website.
👉 If you're planning on digging, call 811 first to check for underground utilities.

There are many more important safety messages to come!

It's Electrical Safety Month! Let's talk generators - they're great to have in a pinch, but they can be a real safety issue if not used properly.
👉 Make sure generators are installed properly and are not plugged into a home outlet. If they aren't done right, they could feed back into the powerlines where line crews are working - a serious risk!
👉 Make sure generators are always outside, not inside where they could poison the air with carbon monoxide.
👉 Always check for frayed cords, leaks, or other issues before turning a generator on.
