🍓 An exciting strawberry season update — some of the first berries of the season are beginning to turn red in the fields as the crop continues to ripen. While the harvest-your-own fields are not quite ready yet, you can grab your first taste of the season with pre-picked strawberries available Monday, June 1st from 12–4pm at Pumpkinseed Hill, 120 Beardsley Road — while supplies last!

We’re hopeful to open the fields for early season berry picking sometime midweek and are watching the crop closely each day. Be sure to visit our website for the latest crop updates and important information about the season! ☀️

Strawberry Season 2026 Update from Farmer Jamie Jones 🍓

Yesterday, Jamie spent some time checking over the strawberry fields as the plants are in full bloom. We continue to face growing challenges with our strawberry crop due to weather conditions throughout the year. After this past winter, some areas of the fields returned strong and healthy, while other sections are more scattered. As a result, we expect a smaller crop and a shorter, more variable season this year.🍓🐝

At this time, we anticipate picking to begin within the next one to two weeks. As the season approaches, it will be especially important to check our website daily for updates! Hours and availability may vary depending on crop conditions, so staying in touch and making a reservation will be important throughout the season. We thank you for your support and look forward to welcoming you back to the farm! 🌱☀️

Our strawberry plants aren’t the only ones in bloom. Right now, the blueberry bushes are covered in delicate white blossoms, an exciting sign!🫐✨

Blueberries depend heavily on bee pollination, and every visit from a bee helps the blossoms develop into berries. 🐝 Warm sunny days and active pollinators over the next several weeks will play an important role in how the crop develops.

While there’s still more growing to do, we’re looking forward to blueberry season beginning in early July! 🫐☀️

With this warm weather, the race is on to mulch the young trees we planted in April!☀️🌲

Each tree gets a hand-made “donut” of mulch carefully placed around its base — with countless wheelbarrow loads hauled through the fields along the way.💪🏻🧤

It’s a time-consuming and labor-intensive job, but an important one! Mulch helps keep weeds down, holds moisture in the soil, and gradually returns nutrients back to the ground as it breaks down over time.🌱🚜
