Teen Chefs: Pizza Celebration

Plumb Memorial Library
What better way to celebrate National Pizza Month than coming to the library make your own creation! Tweens and teens, ages 12 and older, will join Mr. Joe and learn how to make pizza dough from scratch. Then our chefs will get the opportunity to bake their creations in our pizza oven. All ingredients will be supplied by the library with the support of the Friends of the Shelton Libraries. Be advised these ingredients will have food allergens such as gluten and dairy. Program will be held at Plumb Memorial Library; space is limited for this program.

Summer Reading has launched here at the Shelton Libraries. This year we have great prizes for teens entering grades 7-12. This year, we are using Beanstack App to give out prizes WEEKLY! Strong Nation: Teen Kickboxing

Location: Plumb Memorial Library
Time: 2:00 PM
Dates: Wednesday, Jun. 18, Wednesday June 25, Wednesday, July 2
and Monday, July 7

Plumb Memorial Library has teamed up with Fitness & Pilates of Shelton to bring teen-only (age 13 and older) kickboxing classes. Fitness & Pilates of Shelton will be providing a certified trainer to teach teens the fundamentals of kickboxing. This 4-week course begins on Wednesday, June 18 at 2 PM - 3 PM at Plumb Memorial Library. Teens are asked to bring a yoga mat as well as water. Since each class builds on the previous one, teens sign up once for all 4 sessions.

Jewelry Making with Vanessa Fasanella

Program is NOW for adults as well as kid/parent joint Jewelry Making Program. This class, led by Vanessa Fasanella, will teach teens the basics of using jewelry tools, designing jewelry, and using a beading board. Make a bracelet and earrings set, and take home the beading board. This program will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 11 AM - 1 PM at Plumb Memorial Library. Registration is required. Limited space is available.

Teen Wellness Circle: This is a seminar, with Miss Kathi and Mr. Joe, to help discover your mental health and well-being. Program is for teens ages 13 and older, and discover how to overcome the stresses in life. This is a multi-part series and each session is a separate sign-up. Each month, we will have a different topic or strategy to take care of your mental health. This first session is an introduction and learn about how to use journaling as a tool for stress management. Program will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 1 PM - 2 PM at Plumb Memorial Library.

Teen Finals Week Chill Out

Looking to de-stress during finals week? Feeling worn out in the last weeks of school? Drop in for some relaxing and regrouping time at HBL Teens! We’ll have PIZZA, some snacks, and you can choose a relaxing craft, a book, or a strategy game. We’ll have space if you want to study– or even just do nothing for awhile.

Meet in Huntington's HBL Teen Space after school. If you drop in later, just stop by the Circulation Desk for directions. Registration is encouraged but not required.
