Heads up Coldspring and Shepherd folks, 8/22/26:

Trident Pipeline personnel reached out and advised that they will be pressure testing new sections of the pipeline. There will be loud releases of air and possibly vibrations in the ground. These are expected to happen sometime between Sunday and Monday morning. The locations are FM 1514 area and FM 1127 area.

A big part of Auxiliary is being able to help out the Fire Department while they're busy saving the lives and properties of our community. How we do this is by making sure they have what they need to stay hydrated and ready for each call. We need your assistance in order to provide this support for our firefighters who volunteer their own time and safety to keep you and your neighbors safe.

That said, we have a fundraiser coming soon! We will be selling raffle tickets for $1 each (or 6 for $5). We're raffling off a "HUNTING BASKET" with all kinds of hunting themed goodies inside ranging from hand warmers to carving knives (and maybe even a rifle scope).

If anyone would like to help us fill the basket by donating items, we would greatly appreciate it. Feel free to reach out in a message and let us know. Tickets for the basket will go on sale September 1st, after we have a full list of all items included.

Please be aware of a gas leak in town causing traffic to be blocked on Liberty Street by City Hall. Emergency personnel are on scene. Please avoid this area while first responders work to remedy the situation.

The shepherd fire department was given the opportunity to provide a much needed "cool down" for the SHS Royal Blue Band and Color Guard this morning to mark the end of their summer marching practice.

We want to say thank you for allowing us to come out to give the kids this fun time and we hope that this is just the beginning of a new tradition shared between these two organizations. Good luck on the upcoming school year full of performances and competitions!

Mayor Charles Minton has ordered the City Flag to be lowered in honor of the Charles and Debbi Murray family, recognizing their unwavering dedication to our community through their service as First Responders and their countless volunteer hours as members and leaders of the Shepherd Volunteer Fire Department.
We acknowledge the profound loss of these outstanding citizens and extend our heartfelt condolences to their family, friends, and all who were touched by their commitment and compassion.
