Congratulations Alexis!

Congratluations to ALEXIS GROVE on receiving the Optimist Sisson Shining Star Award. Alexis is a student at Shepherd Middle School and was nominated by Mr. Farley and Mr. Terburgh who stated,

“The Optimist Creed speaks to service, enthusiasm, perseverance, and lifting others through positive action. These qualities are clearly reflected in the outstanding leadership and dedication demonstrated by Alexis Grove through the Veterans Banner Project for the Shepherd community. A project in which she envisioned, created, and executed. With limited assistance, she independently initiated and coordinated a project that honored local veterans while bringing the community together in appreciation and remembrance. Through determination and optimism, she organized the production of more than 150 veterans banners to be displayed throughout downtown Shepherd. Her efforts included collecting orders from community members, raising funds to support the project, communicating directly with E&S Graphics to coordinate production, and actively advertising the project to ensure broad community involvement. Throughout the process, she demonstrated professionalism, initiative, integrity, and a genuine commitment to recognizing the service and sacrifice of local veterans. This project reflects the spirit of the Sisson Shining Star Optimist Award by showing enthusiasm for the success and well-being of others, expecting the best through hard work and perseverance, and dedicating time and energy toward improving the community. Her leadership transformed an idea into a meaningful community-wide tribute that will continue to honor veterans and inspire pride throughout Shepherd into the foreseeable future. For her exceptional initiative, service, leadership, and positive impact on the community, she is highly deserving of this award.”

Congratulations, Alexis! Keep Shining!!
