🚒Training Tuesday🌧️

P3 conducted multiple trainings on this rainy Tuesday. The morning started off with some down and dirty shoring operations. These skills come in handy when vehicles exit the roadway and park in buildings.

Station 1’s crew ended the evening with some pump operation scenarios while enjoying a sunset over beautiful Shepherdsville. Honing in the skills as an apparatus operator is crucial for when the tones drop and the boys go to !

🚒Push-In Ceremony for Engine 92🚒

We welcome and encourage all our community members and anyone that wants to be a part of Shepherdsville Fire Department History to attend!

We will be hosting a Push-In Ceremony for Engine 92, which dates back to when fire engines were horse-drawn. After a call, firefighters had to unhitch the horses and physically push the engine back into the station.

We will continue to carry on this tradition by pushing a new apparatus into service as a symbol of teamwork, pride, and respect for the history of the fire service, all while celebrating its role in protecting our community.

Event Details are as follows:

Date: Tuesday, May 19th, 2026.
Time: 6:00 pm.

🚒 Company Training🚒

This week, Second Platoon focused on the fundamentals. Simple tasks, performed efficiently and together, are what lead to success on the fireground.

Members of Engine 92 trained on advancing handlines through short stretches, long distances, and obstacle-filled environments while working to identify and overcome hose kinks and strategically position preload hose to improve nozzle movement and overall efficiency.

At the same time, Quint 94 crews trained on ground ladder placement, focusing on accurately estimating the proper ladder length needed to safely reach various floors and access points.

Training concluded with both companies working together on roof operations, including ladder placement over a parapet wall and discussing scenarios where coordinated roof access and hoseline deployment may be necessary.

Our strive for consistent training and teamwork help ensure our crews are prepared to respond safely and effectively when the community needs us most.
