There is a New Kentucky School Bus Safety Law Now in Effect
Under the updated KRS 189.370, drivers traveling in both directions must now stop for a school bus displaying its flashing red lights and extended stop arm on most two, three, and four-lane roadways unless the opposing lanes are separated by a raised physical barrier or an unpaved median. A center turn lane does not count as a divider. The law also increases penalties for drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Speed Limit Reductions Coming to KY 44 in Bullitt County
New speed limit signs to be placed Thursday, Aug. 6 by 10 a.m.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of speed limit reductions on KY 44 (Old Mill Road) on Thursday, Aug. 6, in Bullitt County.
On KY 44, the speed limit will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph beginning at Big Clifty Drive (mile point 15.10) and extending east to Fisher Lane (mile point 21.10).
Additionally, two school zones will be impacted by this change. On KY 44, the speed limit will be reduced during operational periods from 45 mph to 35 mph at Pleasant Grove Elementary near Bogard Lane (mile point 18.41) and extending east to just past the school entrance (mile point 18.77). The speed limit will also be reduced during operational periods from 45 mph to 35 mph at Eastside Middle School, from Cherry Hill Parkway (mile point 19.00) to Azure Drive (mile point 19.29).
KYTC crews are scheduled to update the speed limit signs on Thursday, Aug. 6 by 10 a.m. Motorists should heed signage, use caution, and adhere to newly posted speed limits.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for National Night Out! It was a great evening of community, conversation, and building relationships with the citizens we are proud to serve.

We would also like to thank the Shepherdsville Police Department for organizing another outstanding event. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with our fellow public safety agencies and community organizations to make this event a success.

Events like National Night Out remind us that strong communities are built when neighbors and law enforcement come together. Thank you for spending the evening with us—we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
