The Sheriff's Office is a constitutional office that is elected every 4 years, the responsibilities of the Sheriff is to serve as the primary law enforcement for the county, provide security for the courts, collect taxes, and be present for all fiscal court meetings and to keep order at the meetings. As Bullitt County has grown, the requirements of the Sheriff's Office have continually changed to

meet the needs of the community. The Bullitt County Sheriff's Office is led by a dedicated team and staffed by Deputies that are here to serve. Please help us welcome Deputy Ed Johnson to the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office!
Deputy Johnson brings over 36 years of law enforcement experience with him to the BCSO. He formerly served as a patrolman, detective, and academy instructor with the Louisville Division of Police and Louisville Metro Police. Most recently he served with the Mt. Washington Police Department as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Bullitt East High School in addition to assisting with the MWPD Evidence/Property Room.

Yesterday, members of the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office were honored to participate in the Kentucky Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Kentucky, joining law enforcement officers and supporters from across the Commonwealth in carrying the Flame of Hope.

We would like to extend special recognition to Deputy Trevor Ford, who serves as the Kentucky State Director for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Deputy Ford has dedicated countless hours to supporting Special Olympics Kentucky, building partnerships, raising awareness, and helping ensure the success of this incredible program.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run represents much more than a run it is a celebration of inclusion, determination, and the achievements of Special Olympics athletes. We are proud to support this mission and the opportunities it creates for athletes throughout Kentucky.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's Torch Run, and we wish the very best of luck to all of the athletes who will be competing in the upcoming Special Olympics Kentucky Summer Games. Your dedication, perseverance, and positive spirit inspire us all.
