Sheppard Air Force Base Landing Zone Sheppard Air Force Base Landing Zone We serve over 10,000 Airmen, Soldiers, Marines and Sailors on a monthly basis.

The Landing Zone is located at Sheppard Air Force Base, in the Air Education and Training Command of the United States Air Force. We are located in Building 450 on the corner of 5th and H Avenues, across the street from Wing HQ and next to the base's Main Pool. The Landing Zone is dedicated to all Sheppard Airmen and their families. It is also the location for the Protestant Christian Worship Serv

ice on Sundays at 1000, in addition to the worship services at the Chapel such as Catholic Mass on Sundays at 0900. The Spiritual Development Center serves as the home to the Senior Religious Support Team and future Religious Education classrooms. Chaplains and Religious Affairs Airmen provide coverage of the facility to accommodate visitors seeking either fun or counseling. In addition to providing all the things listed below, your Chaplain Corps Staff also manages the White Rope Program. Over 150 White Ropes volunteer more than 31,000 hours per year in events both on and off base supporting the local communities. To become a member of the White Rope Program, speak with any current rope or a Chaplain Corps staff member. Once you have your paperwork in hand, you may begin working toward your White Rope. Chaplains are available for counseling during ALL times listed above. After hours emergency counseling is available by calling the Command Post at (940) 676-6266

Where are you from? I’m from northern Kentucky.

Where are you going? I’m going to Aviano, Italy.

What made you join the Air Force? I joined because my family is military and I wanted a career with working on aircraft.

What is your AFSC? My afsc is 2W131Z. (Weapons special missions)

Why did you join the White Rope Program? I joined because the program lined up with my beliefs and we only had one white rope in my squadron and I wanted to help him out. Also, I wanted to help be there for new people who might not have people since they are away from home.

What is a fun fact about you/hobby you enjoy? I play guitar and sing

August was a great month of serving others and giving back to the community! 💙

Our Airmen had the opportunity to volunteer on two separate days with the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank and the Wichita County Humane Society. They rolled up their sleeves, jumped in wherever they were needed, and showed what putting service before self really means.

Whether it was helping provide food for local families or caring for animals waiting for their forever homes, our Airmen made a meaningful difference. We’re incredibly proud of their willingness to give their time, energy, and compassion to the Wichita Falls community.

A huge thank-you to both organizations for welcoming our Airmen and for the incredible work you do every day! We’re already looking forward to serving again! 🐾🥫🤝

The Sheppard Chaplain Corps would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible MSgt Wilson for taking time out of his busy schedule to join us and encourage our Airmen.

He shared how he began his Air Force journey with few tools and little knowledge of the skills and resources he would eventually need. Along the way, he realized that he couldn’t simply rely on the Air Force to provide everything he needed for success. He would have to take ownership of his own growth, seek out opportunities, and equip himself with the tools necessary to succeed.

We are grateful to MSgt Wilson for sharing his story and reminding our Airmen that success often comes from making the most of what you have, taking initiative, and continually investing in yourself.
