FOOTBALL KICKS OFF FALL SPORTS SEASON
Football season is underway as Sherburne-Earlville opened its eight-man schedule Thursday night with a 32-8 loss to visiting Cooperstown. Head coach Ethan Johnson and his Timberwolves will look to bounce back next Thursday, when S-E visits West Canada Valley for a 6:00 p.m. game.

The September 10 game – one day after the 2026-2027 school year starts for students – marks the first of three straight road games for the Timberwolves. S-E will visit Frankfort-Schuyler on September 18 and Morrisville-Eaton September 26 before returning home October 2 to take on Thousand Islands.

MANY HAPPY RETURNS!
Our new backdrop got a real workout Thursday as we welcomed faculty, staff and administrators back to campus to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year. Special thanks to our cafeteria crew for preparing a terrific lunch for everyone, retirees and family members included!

We'll be ready to go when school starts for students bright and early Wednesday, so be sure to rest up because another great year of learning and fun is on the way. See you soon, Timberwolves!

VARSITY SPORTS SEASON OPENERS
Sherburne-Earlville’s 2026 Fall Sports season begins tonight as our varsity football team will host Cooperstown at 7:00 p.m. at the stadium. Field hockey and girls soccer open their varsity seasons Friday, boys soccer starts Saturday, and cross country begins next week.

On Friday, field hockey visits Sauquoit Valley at 4:30 p.m., an hour-and-a-half after the annual S-E Girls Soccer Tournament starts at the stadium. Greene meets Manilus-Pebble Hill at 3:00 p.m. and S-E hosts Solvay at 5:00 p.m. in the girls soccer tournament, which continues Saturday with consolation and championship games (3:00 and 5:00 p.m., respectively).

Following the conclusion of Saturday’s girls soccer tournament, S-E’s boys soccer will start the season with a home game against Oxford at 7:00 p.m.

Varsity cross country opens with a multi-team meet at Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, which is also the first day of school for students.

AFTER SCHOOL PLUS WILL BE BACK!
Applications for Sherburne-Earlville’s 2026-2027 After School Plus program are available now.

Conveniently located in our school, After School Plus is a safe program where your K-5 student can receive a healthy snack, enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, complete homework, and/or read. The program, which meets all state requirements and is supervised by school employees, runs from dismissal to 5:30 p.m. every full day of school.

Please note that ASP is not available when the district cancels school, closes for an emergency, is running on a half-day, or cancels after-school activities.

BACK TO SCHOOL EVENTS SEPTEMBER 8!
Sherburne-Earlville will host two free back-to-school events for students and their families from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8.

The MS/HS Back To School Bash will feature a Community and Club Fair, Bingo, and activities/games on the upper athletic fields adjacent to the Auditorium entrance. Free ice cream, courtesy of NBT Bank, will be available, as well as free hot dogs and yogurt in the MS/HS Cafeteria. Please note that Grade 6 Orientation will take place from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.

Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School will host its annual Back to School Meet and Greet at the same time (3:00-5:00 p.m. September 8). Students in Grades UPK-5 and their families can meet teachers, visit classrooms, drop off school supplies, and connect with community organizations.

All SECSD students will return to campus Wednesday, September 9, for the first day of school.
