Today, we take a moment to pause and remember — three years since we lost our fearless leader. Time keeps moving, and we must look forward, but today we honor the past, and the memories that still mean so much to so many of us throughout the community. You are missed Chief.

Whether you're working, relaxing, celebrating, or just out and about, staying hydrated is your first line of defense against heat-related illness.
💧 DRINK WATER frequently — don't wait until you're thirsty.
💧 Avoid alcohol or sugary drinks that can dehydrate you.
💧 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning whenever possible.
The graphic below shows the signs of heat exhaustion versus heat stroke and what to do in each case. Keep an eye on yourself and each other!

🚒🔥 Well… it finally happened! 🔥🚒

After trying to retire a couple years ago (we didn’t let him), Assistant Chief Bob Reap has officially hung up his helmet and is retiring from the Calvert Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Bob has been a cornerstone of this department—mentoring new recruits, leading by example, and always ready with a calm word (or a sarcastic one) in the middle of chaos. His dedication, leadership, and good humor will be missed more than he knows—although we still don’t believe he’s really leaving. We’ll probably see him around the station anyway. 😄

Thank you, Bob, for your what seems like 100 years of service, sacrifice, and stubborn refusal to quit until we finally let you. Enjoy retirement—you’ve earned every minute of it (but don’t be surprised if we call you anyway).
