Grant County Rescue started a training series tonight of Basic and Advanced Auto-Extrication that will carry thru the next couple of months. Tonight the focus was on vehicle stabilization, a step that is regularly missed and could potentially be harmful to the patient as well as the worker. There a numerous methods of stabilizing a vehicle. Tonights focus was using our stabilization package RescueJacks and our chain package.

Everyone please exercise caution throughout the night when driving thru the intersection of Highway 35 and Sheridan Bypass. There are crews still working on an accident scene from earlier today.

For the Month of April Grant County Rescue was toned out 24 times with a 96% Response Rate missing only 1 call. Those numbers are up more than 15% from previous months. Improvements are happening!

Monday Nights Drill at GCR was all about patient packaging. We worked and trained on different methods for securely transporting patients. These can be used in Low/High Angle, Backcountry or Cross-Country

Wanna talk about a fun and adventurous afternoon!! GCR and SAR members took advantage of the courthouse construction to work on some High Angle Rope Rescue Techniques. The weather was perfect and a ton of information was shared and learned to help with future rescues.

This weekend Grant County Search and Rescue(SAR) had a full weekend of drill focusing on our Drone Program. GCSAR now has the capability of doing searches from the air utilizing Drones with a software program called Eagle Eyes along with CalTopo Mapping. This software helps us detect motion, and possibly color anomalies and shapes from overhead. SAR spent most of the weekend sharpening our skills on rapid deployment of the Drones, Starlink Internet, Eagle Eyes Setup, CalTopo Mapping Grids, and Screen Mirroring.
