Around 11:00pm last night, our crews responded to an accident on S Sheridan Road, just south of Condensery Rd that tragically took the life of a Sheridan man. Words cannot express our sympathy to everyone who has been or will be touched as a result of this loss. Dispatchers, 1st Responders, witnesses, those directly involved in the crash, family, friends, and our community. Today, as we remember the military lives that have been lost, please say an extra prayer for a family and a community that is hurting too.

SPECIAL ATTENTION for those in Bushnell Township and surrounding areas that may have suffered damage as a result of the tornado and/or flooding. Montcalm County Emergency Management Teams will be out in your area this week.

Our prayers continue for all those who were affected, in hopes relief has or will be coming your way.🙏

DAMAGE ASSEMENTS BEGIN: Preliminary damage assessments will begin tomorrow across 30 counties impacted by March’s severe weather. Teams from MSP/EMHSD, FEMA, and the U.S. Small Business Administration may be in your community evaluating the extent, severity, and impact of recent flooding and tornado damage.

The information gathered during these assessments helps determine whether the state meets the criteria to request a federal disaster declaration and FEMA Individual Assistance for affected residents.

Just after 2:00am and we are just getting back after chasing down power lines, downed trees, collapsed barns, outbuildings, grain bins, and loose livestock. We are not hearing any reports of injuries as a result of the storms, but there is a lot of damage and clean up ahead for our community. Our thoughts are with all of those who have been affected by this weather event. Thankfully, we all made it home safely.
