New pattern for local traffic on State Road 47 in Sheridan
HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that the local traffic pattern along State Road 47 in Sheridan is changing.
Due to utility conflicts, crews are shifting their work to the east side of Arrow Street. This will allow work on the project to continue while utilities are relocated.
Beginning on or after Wednesday, June 10, local traffic on S.R. 47 will enter and exit Sheridan Estates and all businesses from the west side of S.R. 47 instead of the east.
Additionally, Maple Run Drive will close at the S.R. 47 intersection. Maple Run neighborhood traffic should use the entrance on Mule Barn Road. This local traffic pattern is expected to be in place for the next several weeks.
State Road 47 remains closed to through traffic between Hamilton-Boone County Line Road and State Road 38 during Phase 2 of the S.R. 47 Reconstruction Project. The project will be in Phase 2 through the end of July. During this time, the official detour follows S.R. 38 and U.S. 421.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
