At 233 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of thunderstorms extending from 12 miles west of Fort Smith to 13 miles south of Sheridan, or extending from 37 miles southeast of Billings to 13 miles south of Sheridan, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Line of storms over the Bighorn mountains are expected to rapidly intensify as they mover northeast into the
foothills. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail are
expected to accompany these intensifying storms as they move
toward I-90, and along the Bighorn River from St. Xavier to
Fort Smith.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Construction begins Monday June 8th on W. Whitney Street south of the Sheridan County Courthouse.

🚫 W. Whitney Street will be CLOSED to all traffic.
🚫 No parking will be permitted along the south side of the courthouse.
🚧 Construction crews and equipment will be working throughout the area.

Please see the information below about Red Grade Road construction and road closures.

Construction on Red Grade Road/Big Goose Road access to the Bighorn National Forest is expected to begin the week of June 15. This U.S. Federal Highway Administration and Sheridan County–led project will include temporary road closures during work hours.

During the May 18 preconstruction meeting, officials shared the following (subject to change):
• Temporary closures are planned Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–6 p.m.
• Equipment and materials have already begun mobilizing to the site.
• Survey work is expected to begin around the first week of June.
• Traffic control will be in place starting the week of June 15.
