The Development Services department has received site plan and engineering applications for 𝑪𝒉𝒖𝒚’𝒔 𝑻𝒆𝒙-𝑴𝒆𝒙 located at the 2701 Block of N US Highway 75. The site plan will be on the agenda for the September 22, 2026, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

The legal notice for the other items for the September 22, 2026 P&Z Meeting has also been posted.

We’ve had the pleasure of having Jackson Flores intern with Development Services for the past three months!

Jackson has been a great addition to our team, and we’ve really enjoyed having him around. We appreciate all his hard work, help, and positive attitude over the last three months.

We’re going to miss having him around and wish him nothing but the best in whatever comes next! Thanks for everything, Jackson!

We had a great time celebrating the ribbon cutting for Woodland Cottages Sherman!

Woodland Cottages offers independent living for active adults 55 and older, with private cottage-style homes in a gated community. Residents can enjoy the clubhouse, fitness center, swimming pool, pickleball court, planned social activities and the convenience of maintenance-free living.

Congratulations to the Woodland Cottages team on this exciting milestone! We’re happy to celebrate with you and look forward to seeing this community grow.

July Building Report

Another strong month of building permits showed an additional 82 permits for new single-family homes. Based on the year-to-date average, over 600 new single-family homes are expected to be issued in 2026.

Consistent new commercial has been seen throughout 2026, with Take 5 Express Oil Change having been issued a permit at 3806 N Loy Lake in July.
