🚨 We wanted to clear some things up about rabies vaccines and dog licensing. 🚨

✅ The ONLY vaccine required to license your dog is the Rabies vaccine.

Rabies vaccines can be done through:
🐾 Your regular veterinarian
🐾 Free local rabies clinics
🐾 Tractor Supply vet clinics (call your local store for dates and times)

📌 A dog’s FIRST rabies vaccine is good for 1 year.

📌 After a dog receives its SECOND rabies vaccine, they are typically good for 3 years depending on the vaccine used and vaccination history.

📌 Dogs that receive a 3-year rabies vaccine can also be licensed for 3 years through your town clerk.

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
Just getting your dog a rabies vaccine does NOT mean your dog is licensed.

You MUST take the rabies certificate to your Town Clerk’s office to officially license your dog.

💲 Licensing Fees:
✔️ Spayed/Neutered Dogs — $10
✔️ Unaltered Dogs — $15

📄 Please hold onto your rabies certificates!
If you cannot provide proof of previous rabies vaccines, veterinarians and clinics may require your dog to restart the vaccine schedule from the beginning.

📱 Take a picture of the certificate on your phone, make copies, or store it somewhere safe — whatever works best for you. The original certificate is required, not the tag on their collar!

A dog cannot receive a “second” or “3-year” rabies vaccine without proof of prior vaccination.

The next board meeting for the Town of Sherman will be Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 PM.

Upcoming Friday Hours.

The Town Clerk’s office will be open this Wednesday to accept Town tax payments. This is the last day that these tax payments can be paid at the Town clerks office.

Also, the Town Clerk’s office will be closed on Friday in observance of Good Friday.

The Town Clerk’s office hours for the next two weeks are as follows.

12/01/2025

The regularly scheduled board meeting for December 4th has been changed to Thursday, December 18. This will combine the regular and end of the year board meetings.
It will be held at the Town Clerk’s office building, 111A Mill St. at 9:30 AM.

09/30/2025

The regular scheduled October board meeting for the Town of Sherman has been rescheduled for Thursday October 16th at 7:00 pm.

The Sherman Town Clerk office will be open this Wednesday, October 1st, from 2 pm-4pm for hunting license sales. October 1st is the last day Doe Permits will be available for sale.
Hunting licenses can still be purchased after October 1st.
