Early Semper was requested by a neighboring county to assist in a search for a little boy lost in the woods. As we were in route I got a call from the battalion chief saying he had been found. Thats great news and the most important. But Semper was whining and jumping around anxious to get out and work. So as I was on my way back I called a friend to see if he would go hide in his woods so Semper would feel like she accomplished her mission. When we got there and began the search she tracked him exactly where he was in the woods with no problems or my help. I am beyond thankful and blessed to be able to have a dog as smart as she is so we can offer this life saving asset and be able to bring a loved one back to their family.

Looking for volunteers to help keep Semper trained on her searches. All you have to do is hide and let her find you. Thats it. You can come to me or I can come to you if it's not too far. Looking for different people so she doesn't get use to the same people. Also people that are able to go out into the woods and hide. Parents can take your child into the woods and let her find them. Semper is doing good on her searches. But of course training is never ending and only makes her better. I would love to take her out atleast a couple of times per week. You could be part of the reason she brings someone's loved one home. If this is something you would be interested in please let me know so we can set up a time. Thank you.

I'll be posting another video soon of Semper's recent training search as soon as I get a better internet connection. Normally she has been on 15- 20 minute old scent trails on dry and calm days. Today was a 4-5 hour old scent trail on wet, muddy, and windy all day. Stay tuned.

Meant to record it. But done another training search with Semper today with a friend of mine (whom Semper has never seen much less gotten his scent of) Had him take off thru the woods. He came back out onto a trail for a piece and then back in the woods again. He ended up going in a total different direction from where I told him. But I trusted Semper and followed her and she found him.
If you are ever in need of trying to located a lost loved one whom has ventured off into the woods. Do not hesitate to call your local Sheriff's Dept or 911 so Search and Rescue can get out there and do our jobs. The sooner we are notified and get out there the better chance of bringing your loved one home safely. Servicing Pontotoc and surrounding areas.
