Over the past two weeks, we’ve been touched by the generosity of private donors who have chosen to give in memory of Dolly❤️

What a beautiful way to honor her life—by helping, as of today, 1,836 local children grow, learn, and dream through the gift of a book.

Thank you to everyone who has turned remembrance into a little more good in our community. Dolly’s legacy is living on, one child and one book at a time.📚💛

A region-wide day of giving where every dollar you donate goes further for local nonprofits, including United Way.

🥤 Sept 18 — Dutch Bros Give Back
Grab your coffee run for a reason — every $1 from every drink goes straight to the Grayson County Children's Advocacy Center .

🍽️ Sept 22 — Four Rivers Outreach Giving Banquet
An evening dedicated to celebrating and funding the work happening right here in our community.

🛏️ Sept 24 — 70th Annual 42 Bed Bash
A community tradition benefiting Texoma Family Shelter — 70 years strong and still going.

None of these are "someone else's job to handle." They're chances for you to be part of the good that's already happening around you.

The donations have been counted, and the results are officially in! The First United Bank Battle of the Books was a HUGE success!

And this year’s bragging rights go to...

🐝💛 DENISON YELLOWJACKETS WIN! 💛🐝

The final score:
💛 Yellowjackets — $1,195.31
❤️ Bearcats — $588.50

But the BEST number?
Together, FUB raised $1,783.81!

That’s enough to provide approximately 686 books through the Imagination Library! Those books will help put stories, learning, and a love of reading directly into the hands of local kiddos.

And Bearcats... there’s always next YEAR

Yellowjackets, enjoy those bragging rights! Most importantly, our community’s kids are the real winners.

This is the heart of what United Way is about. $5 might not seem like much to most, but when you add it all up, it makes a tremendous difference.

💙 Jeans on Fridays. Impact all year long.

At Sherman Medical Center, our employees have the option to donate $5 from each paycheck to wear jeans on Fridays — with those donations benefiting the United Way of Grayson County.

And those $5 Fridays added up in a BIG way! 👖💙

This year, SMC employees donated an incredible $6,463.20 to United Way!

It’s a great reminder of what can happen when small acts of generosity are multiplied across an entire team. We’re incredibly proud of our employees for choosing, paycheck after paycheck, to give back to the community we serve.

Thank you to our SMC team, and thank you to United Way of Grayson County for the important work you do throughout our community!

💙 ONE GOOD THING LEADS TO ANOTHER

What a way to kick off another year of coming together for Grayson County!

Our kickoff luncheon, presented by Atmos Energy, was about more than launching a campaign — it was about experiencing what happens when a community chooses to do good together.

Before taking their seats, guests rolled up their sleeves and completed quick volunteer projects — small acts of service that will make a real difference for local organizations and neighbors.

Then came the good news. Guests shared a good deed, a moment of kindness, or simply something good happening in our community. Those slips of paper are becoming something bigger: a visual paper chain, connecting one good thing to another and reminding us that every act matters.

That’s the heart of this year’s campaign: One Good Thing Leads to Another. Because a donation leads to a child with a book. A volunteer leads to a family feeling supported. A workplace campaign leads to stronger communities. And when we connect all those good things, the impact is something none of us can create alone.

And, of course, we had the privilege of celebrating some of the incredible organizations and workplaces already making that impact happen!

We are so excited to announce that the City of Denison will be hosting a Denison Proud Watch Party to cheer on one of our own, Jadarian Price, as he begins his rookie season! 💚🏈

Join us Wednesday, September 9th at The George Tavern. The party starts at 6:00 p.m. with kickoff at 7:20 p.m. Come early, grab some food, and get ready to cheer on one of our own!

We'll have raffle items and giveaways throughout the night benefiting The United Way of Grayson County.

And who knows... there might even be a special message from the man himself! 👀
