A VERY DRY AIRMASS WILL SET UP ACROSS THE AREA TODAY AND FRIDAY WITH AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES LOWERING BETWEEN 20 TO 25 PERCENT. IN ADDITION...WEST WINDS WILL FREQUENTLY GUST BETWEEN 25 TO 35 MPH. THESE WEATHER CONDITIONS COUPLED WITH DRY VEGETATION AT THE END OF THE GROWING SEASON...WILL CREATE CONDITIONS FAVORABLE FOR THE UNCONTROLLED SPREAD OF OUTDOOR FIRES.

BURNING EMBERS CAN BLOW AROUND AND EASILY CATCH GRASS ON FIRE...IMPROPERLY DISCARDED CI******ES CAN ALSO START FIRES WHICH WILL SPREAD QUICKLY... ADDITIONALLY, FIELD FIRES MAY DEVELOP MORE EASILY AS ACTIVE HARVESTING COMBINES STRIKE THROUGH DRY VEGETATION.
Beautiful night for some extrication training!
Severe weather after 8pm tonight. Plan ahead. Risk include high winds >65 mph and quarter to golf ball size hail.
The Slow Moving Vehicle emblem means the farm equipment travels at a slow speed.
Tips for Motorists:
⚠️Pay attention and do not drive distracted.
⚠️Slow down when encountering slow moving vehicles. Flashing amber lights mean “CAUTION!”.
⚠️Pass with extreme caution.
⚠️Allow extra room when following farm equipment.
⚠️It is illegal to pass in a no passing zone or within 100 feet of an intersection.
⚠️Be patient. A farmer cannot always move over to let motorists pass.
⚠️If you cannot see the driver, the driver cannot see you. Farm machinery operators may not be able to see you because of the large equipment or a load can block part of their rear view.

A colorful version of Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, has been introduced to the illicit drug market and is being referred to as “colored” or “rainbow” fentanyl. Colored fentanyl is showing up in the form of pills closely resembling candy. The rainbow-colored fentanyl pills have been identified in multiple states and most recently, St. Louis, MO. There is significant concern of accidental ingestion by young children due to the rainbow colors and candy-like appearance.
Adults are encouraged to talk to children and teens about the dangers of ingesting unknown substances. Find out more at:
