☀️Texas Heat Continues This Week☀️

Summer heat continues this week with highs and heat indices in the 90s and triple digits.

The grassfire threat will remain elevated Monday (today) and Tuesday, so continue to take caution to not spark wildfires.

Make sure you are staying hydrated, taking breaks in the shade/A.C, and practicing fire prevention!

In Texas, dialing 2-1-1 connects you to a free service that provides information and referrals for a wide range of social and human services, including help with food, housing, utility bills, and healthcare.

It can also assist with finding services for children, seniors, and veterans, as well as support for crises like domestic violence, disaster relief, and substance abuse. The service is available 24/7 via phone and often has online resources as well.

🔥ELEVATED FIRE THREAT🔥

Conditions are extremely favorable for wildfires. It is very dry, the humidity is low, and the wind is there to help it along.

If you see an uncontrolled fire or someone burning illegally, call 9-1-1. Wildfires are dangerous and put everyone at risk.

We cannot stress the importance of fire prevention enough.

ALWAYS LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK!

Never leave a child or pet in a vehicle unattended for any length of time. Rolling windows down or parking in the shade does little to change the interior temperature of the vehicle.

Store car keys and fobs out of a child's reach and teach children that a vehicle is not a play area.

Video features Grayson County OEM staff demonstrating “Look before you lock.”
