The GCSSA 2017 Awards Banquet is in the history books! Congratulations to our Award Winners Carroll Pennell, Joyce White, and TCOG Senior Corps. Our 2018 officers were confirmed with the group vote. BK Schlesinger moves from Acting President to President; Jan Johnson is the President-elect, Joanne Fowler will serve as secretary, Joyce White will continue as Treasurer; and Rob Medlar is the Program Chair.

2107 has certainly been an eventful year. Our President had to resign mid-year, questions were raised concerning our status with the IRS, membership continued to decline as it has in previous years, we voted to change our lunch program to a brown bag lunch program, and we cancelled one meeting due to conflicting schedules and now folks seem to think that we have disbanded and are no longer meeting. WOW! We survived it all. The IRS issue is resolved, we are fully legal, no one went to jail and no is being fined by the IRS. We still meet the third Wednesday of the month at the Salvation Army at noon and everyone can bring what they want to eat or not. Our officers stuck to the By-laws and members stepped up when needed.

Now the real work begins - rebuilding membership! Those faithful members that have hung in there through this year have worked and are still working to do this. We have a clear vision of why we exist and understand that we are not a fundraising organization, that we are not dedicated solely to homelessness, veterans, or mental health issues but rather we are a group of professionals and volunteers working and networking together so that we may more fully serve the needs of our respective agency clients as whole individuals without having to make them fit in one box. We also believe that were are stronger when we work collaboratively.

If you have left the group, we have missed you and hope that you will come back. If you have not joined the group previously, we hope that you will consider doing so. New and Renewal Memberships forms will be available at our next meeting on October 18, 2017 at Noon at the Salvation Army or you may request one electronically by contacting:

Here are some pictures from the luncheon and a big thanks to those who made this happen and those who attended.

Meeting reminder. 7/19/2017 at noon. Salvation Army. This will be a working meeting to nominate officers, IRS resolution, and plan our annual meeting. No speaker this month and I promise no chicken for lunch! Not sure what we will have but it will be good.

06/15/2017

Due the events scheduled for June 21st, vacations, and members with other commitments we will not have our regularly scheduled meeting this month. We will meet in July as scheduled.
